ENT Consultation

At Kirtikar SoundUP Hearing and Speech Clinic, we realise that hearing and speech health may be closely related to the overall health of your ears, nose and throat. We are experts in audiology and speech pathology, but we understand the necessity of the holistic approach. In any medical cases involving an ear, nose or throat issue that needs to be medically identified or treated, we provide direct access to the services of an expert ENT.

The Function of an ENT Specialist

An Otolaryngologist, or ENT specialist, is a doctor who specialises in conditions and diseases of the ear, nose, throat, and other parts of the head and neck. Their practice is to diagnose and treat very diverse problems, including simple infections and serious surgical issues. They play an essential role in medical care and surgery that might be required to manage underlying diseases that impact hearing or speech.

Easy Coordination of Your Health

Kirtikar SoundUP Hearing and Speech clinic believes in an inclusive treatment process. If ENT consultation is necessary, we will present the reasons clearly and can help circulate them with well-regarded ENT specialists in Pune. We strive to provide you with a detailed assessment and care surrounding every issue that involves your ear, nose, and throat, as well as the best results for your hearing and communications.

When an ENT Consultation is Recommended

Even though our clinic offers a full spectrum of audiological and speech-language care, we have unique cases when consultation with an ENT is necessary. We can suggest an ENT referral when the results of our first test are:

Sudden Hearing Loss: Sudden hearing loss occurs quickly, and a quick medical examination is needed to establish the cause and chances of recovery.

Ear Infections (Otitis Media): Ear infections that last a long time or return are common in children. In many cases, evaluation plus treatment by an ENT may be necessary.

Ear Pain / Ear Discharge: Severe pain in the ear or discharge from the ear should be examined by a physician.

Tympanic Membrane Perforation: A tympanic membrane hole needs an evaluation by an ENT on the possibility of repair.

Balance Disorders/Vertigo: Although audiologists can test some balance disorders, others related to ENT disease can be offered as a special diagnosis by an ENT.

Structural Abnormalities: Any evident marks on the outer ear or ear canal that can influence the hearing or may require a medical evaluation.

Chronic Sinus Problems or Nasal Simulation: This may sometimes interfere with the Eustachian tubes' functions and indirectly affect hearing functions.

Change in the Voice: A long-term hoarseness or alteration of the voice might necessitate one to seek the services of an ENT to look at the throat.

Cochlear Implants- To consider cochlear implants, an ENT surgeon must undergo surgery and consider medical candidacy.
