Auditory Verbal Therapy (AVT) at Kirtikar Sound UP Hearing & Speech Clinic
Our AVT program helps deaf and hard-of-hearing children learn to listen and speak using hearing aids or cochlear implants. Led by Audiologist & Speech Pathologist Rajeshree Kirtikar, the focus is on developing the child’s auditory brain so they can reach age-appropriate speech and language milestones.
What AVT Involves
- Ensuring hearing devices are worn consistently and properly programmed
- Developing listening skills and connecting sounds to meaning
- Supporting speech, language, social, and academic development
Parent Involvement
- Setting goals based on the child’s hearing age
- Including listening and language practice in daily routines
- Using simple strategies to encourage speech and active listening
